We have successfully developed an opportunity for individuals of all abilities to find their creativity in a warm and welcoming environment. No matter what walk of life you come from, everyone can be embraced and included at Drawn to Art.
Students will join a nine-week program where they are given complete creative freedom. They will have the unique opportunity to choose their own subject matter and medium, students are encouraged to make decisions on how they envisage the final product.
Painting, printmaking, drawing, mixed media collage and sculpture will be on offer.
These classes are suitable for all primary and high-school ages.
All artistic capabilities are welcome.
These fun, two-hour, art workshops are ideal for any child interested in visual arts. Students will follow step-by-step instructions to create a pre-selected image while interacting with varied mediums and exploring different techniques.

Join the fun on Monday mornings from 12 pm to 2 pm for an exclusive home-schooled art class.
During this class, students work with other home-schooled children in the Port Macquarie area on specific art projects tailored to their age and abilities.

Hello! I’m Jane Whitfield and I am the Principal of Drawn to Art.
I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with distinction in 2004 from Western Sydney University of Penrith, NSW.
After completing my degree, I managed a contemporary art gallery, Ronald Coles Investment Gallery in Kenthurst, Sydney before my husband and I moved to Port Macquarie in 2005.
In 2005, I started teaching an after-school art program at many local primary schools. It was then, Drawn to Art was established.
I love art, teaching art, and helping individuals of all ages express themselves artistically.
One of my favourite aspects of my job is watching children become confident in their art-making process. I love how uninhibited their art is - so bold, colourful, and free. Art is such an important part of a child’s development. Art enables self-expression, imagination and creativity.
As a mother of two sons, I understand how to help children thrive artistically by providing them with a calm, friendly, and patient environment.
